On to Trader Joe's All-Stars Part 2! If you missed out on the last part, I showcased my favorite hummus and the things I like to eat along side.
I did not include the one thing I love to eat, ahem drink with it, and the one thing that takes up a good portion of my TJs budget:
Wine!
Unfortunately, not all Trader Joe's carry wine due to different state restrictions, but here in lovely NC there is wine a-plenty!
There are lots of different types they carry that are all pretty delicious. I usually just go to the employee recommendations wall and pick a few bottles that are less than $6. I've only had a few I didn't care for, but it was only $6 so no big loss, right?
However, there is one very inexpensive kind of wine at TJs that I am always sure to pick up, Charles Shaw, aka 2 Buck Chuck (3 buck here in NC).
If you've never had it, you are in for a surprise! It tastes great! My favorites are the cab and the shiraz, but all the other kinds are delicious as well!
No one will believe that this bottle of wine cost you $2.99! It's great if you need a glass yourself and are not sure you want to commit to a whole bottle.
It costs less than even ONE glass of wine out at a restaurant! How can you resist?
I know I sure can't!
And the perfect thing to go with wine?
Cheese of course!
The TJs Italian truffle cheese is the most delicious cheese TJs has. Yes, you heard me. Try it immediately! I don't buy a lot of cheese even though I love it, because I try to keep my dairy consumption down. TJs has great prices on normal cheeses like Laughing Cow, or another personal fav, St. Andre - but I must say that the truffle cheese is the star of the show. [Please note, I found out later that this cheese is not vegetarian friendly!]
What is your favorite wine/cheese from TJs?
The next installment of TJs All-stars will include all my frozen favorites... frozen foods are the best!

Wow, I wish there were Trader Joe's in CO!! Such cheap wine and delicious cheeses could be dangerous ;)
I actually have only ever bought one bottle for TJ's and it still sits on the wine cabinet unopened. Sigh.
Katie - Theres gotta be a TJs there - ok I just checked the website and there isn't one! You should open one!
Chrisite - I love wine but I don't like spending a lot on it so TJs is great for me :) You should try it!
I WISH we had a TJ's near my apartment, well it's not too far but just far enough. And their wine is awesome and SO cheap which means you can buy more ;)
I have always wanted to have a wine and cheese party, like legit everyone bring wine and cheese and lets make this really good. But not enough of my friends enjoy those finer things in life...hhehe
Fun pictures! Love the stemless goblet ;)
They might not have it anymore (I heard from an employee there last time I went that they were running out), but the Trader Joe's Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is awesome. It's about $12 a bottle. More than the $3 you've been spending, but a really great Pinot if you want to splurge sometime :)
