Lululemon Favorites!

Lululemon Faves

These are some of my favorite Lululemon products - listed at the bottom of this post. Why do I love them? Are they worth the money? Well, read on...

The Products:
lululemon athletica - Scuba Hoodie
$98 - lululemon.com

This is the Scuba hoodie - which I recently got for Christmas - and has quickly become one of my favorite jackets that I own. It is basically the most awesome sweatshirt you will ever find. The length is perfect on me, and while the sleeves are a little long - it's not really a big deal (I have short arms). Also, it is really really warm - those Canadians know what they are doing! Oh, and as if I need to say it, but the thumb holes are amazing.

lululemon athletica - Power Y Tank
$52 - lululemon.com

The Power Y Tank is an awesome tank for hot yoga - but I don't think I would wear it for much else, other than layering. The support is fine for yoga, but for running - no way! Also, I wish the straps on this were about 1 inch shorter on each side for a little more modesty - but for the most part this tank is great! I actually don't want to wear anything else to yoga anymore because it doesn't restrict you at all.

lululemon athletica - Wunder Under Crop
$68 - lululemon.com

Wunder Unders are the best leggings in the world. Hands down. They retain their nice black color, they don't stretch out and the more you wear them, the softer they get - I swear. I not only wear these to hot yoga for every class, but I also wear them all the time to work and when I am lounging around the house.

lululemon athletica - Scoop Neck Tank
$52 - lululemon.com

This tank is great, because like the Wunder Unders, it is super flattering and can even be worn when not working out! This top has much better support than the Power Y, but I also find it to be a little restrictive at the back of my neck at times. Also, this top shows a little bit of cleavage if you've got it, so if you are looking for something more conservative, this isn't it. I love the mesh at the back and the way this perfectly skims the body but isn't too tight anywhere.

Value:

Lulu is really expensive - and there is no way around that. I mostly order my stuff online (free shipping though!), so other than the We Made Too Much section (which is usually weird stuff), there is pretty much no way to get a discount. I have heard that there are outlet stores, and that often stores have sales - but alas, I have yet to visit a store! Maybe one day...

As for value, I truly believe these products are super high quality. One of my pairs of Wunder Unders I've had a year and worn them at least once a week, some times even more than that - and they pretty much look exactly like the second pair I recently bought. The only thing I will say about them is that there is a bit of pilling where my thighs touch - but that's totally normal for me. Lulu says that you can use a de-piller on it with no problems!

Every little detail on Lulu items are thought through - the pants have a little pocket where you can store keys, the tags rip out easily so they don't chafe, the hoodie even has a "zipper garage" at the top so the zipper doesn't chafe your face!

Care:

As for keeping your Lulu clothes in top condition, I've had good luck with only washing mine in cold water, with only other Lulu items - I've heard that some fabrics can make the Luon pill. I hang them to dry, and generally right after they dry they are a bit tight, but quickly go back to their normal fit.

Sizing:

If you are like me, it can be super difficult to determine what size to get. For the Wunder Unders, I sized down and got 6s. With these it's better to have them tight so they don't slip down. For tops I went with my measurements and have done everything in a size 8.

Verdict:

I like to save up and buy myself one or two things from Lululemon every so often. These items are definitely a special treat - but I think they are so much better of an investment than most athletic wear. I would recommend the above 4 items to start out with if you are unsure where to start!

So what do you think? Do you own clothes from Lululemon? Are you impressed with them or think they are over-rated?

I do not own anything from them. Mostly because it is definitely NOT in the budget for me right now, but I'm thinking of splurging for something for my birthday. Maybe. I'll have to visit the store and see if it's worth it.

Sorry for the late reply - but in my experience there stuff is definitely worth the money. I think just starting out with one or two pieces you know you will wear (like leggings for me - I work out in them and wear them allll the time!) is the best strategy! :)
